Justify editing effects Feedback Form   Q1 This is feedback that was fixed by exporting it into a different and better format in Premiere Pro. Apart from that, the editing style Sophie went with suits the video and its purpose, so no other editing methods should be considered. Q2 /  Q3 / Q4 These are all fairly short questions and can be talked about here together, each having mostly positive responses apart from on 3, which says "they were all very basic but worked well". I agree that shots we did were quite common and basic, which is why it took Sophie a while to create something unique from it. If we were to adjust any of the shots that we took, we could use more unique angles that fit into the narrative but still look interesting. We could have included ones such as over the shoulder shots for the conversation scenes between Nathen, Ellie and I, a high angle shot looking down at someone playing on the switch, and ground level shots of our surrounding location and the ...

This is our finished online edit, completed with different audio and visual effects. One of our group members, Sophie, is the one who edited this, so everything mentioned is based around what she would have done to edit. This here is the finished audio, where you can also see that visual effects have been added on to most of the clips, and audio effects have been added into some of the background music. When filming, there were a few clips we had which either had something unnecessary in it or the shot was too long. To fix this, the razor tool would have been used to cut out what was not wanted and then deleted.  Another tool that would frequently have been used is the selection tool, as this is what would be used to choose which clips to edit.  The text tool also would have been used a lot because it is rather natural for a video like this as it is what a lot of other promotional videos would use to properly show what the intention is. As the location we filmed in was ou...

Editing here  is the offline edit, where all of the relevant  clips have been imported into adobe premiere pro, and trimmed them down so they didn't have any unnecessary bits in them. however, we decided as a group to use only one of the final edits because we all thought it was the strongest and most effective video out of all of ours. Edit decisions log number Shot type description Time in Time out 1 Establishing shot Shot of the park, looking around 0.00 08.18 2 Medium close up Asking “do you want to play on the switch” 08.19 10.17 3 Medium close up “let’s have another go at arena” 10.18 15.13 4 Extreme close up Nathen passes the switch case over 15.14 17.12 5, 6, 7 Medium shot Sophie takes the game and ...

Recording We used a film camera ( Canon Legria HF 650 4K ), and a tripod for the recording of our audio visual promo. The tripod was mainly used for the fact that the movement in the majority of the shots were going to be stationary, and on stable ground this meant that. When we started filming our production, it was only Sophie and Nathen, and they didn’t have access to a tripod as i was the one bringing it. This meant that they were limited to what shots they could do in the time they had until Ellie and I got there. During the recording, we did end up having a few issues. The Nintendo switch we used didn't work properly, as in it didn't turn on, so we were not able to get any footage of gameplay on it.  However, if I had thought ahead I would have brought my own so we could have got scenes of us playing actual gameplay. It wa s quite windy and also sunny, which wasn't the best weather as some of us were freezing cold while sat recording in front of the c...

Pre-Production For the pre production section of this unit, we will need to fill different forms and sheets so we can have more of an idea of what we will do for the shot types, any risks that we may come across while filming, and also information on the place we will be filming (Sandall Park). Storyboard The storyboard is how we have visualised each shot we will take the best we can. It also gives us an idea of how long each scene will be and gives us extra info, including the shot types and what lighting we may use. Risk Assessment This is where one of us looked at any possible risks of filming at our location and how we may be able to deal with them. Location Recce The location recce is a list of information which will help us figure whether our chosen location is suitable for our audio visual promo. Shot List This is the list of shots we will be following when on the set, as this will make it easier for us to have an idea of what each scene will look like visually. It also gives sl...

Explain Legal and Ethical Issues In this document, I will be explaining the legal and ethical issues which will affect our audio visual promo about the Nintendo Switch. Legal : law and legislation One issue for legal would be copyright, as it is important to ensure that any thing used in the advertisement is original or has had permission granted to use it to avoid any issues. More things to consider for the advert will be the regulatory bodies, including ASA, BBFC, Ofcom. For example, ASA will look over an advert to see if it follows the correct guidelines and if it is  suitable for the intended target audience, and if an advertisement does not follow either of these, then it may be removed or edited to meet the guidelines. Another legal concern would be trademarks and the use of intellectual property. This is near enough the same as copyright but is a lot more specific. If an advertisement uses logos or slogans that belong to another company without permission, then leg...

P2 - Create concept documents

Concept Documents For P2, I will be working with three other people in a group to create an audio-visual promo for the Nintendo Switch. Working together, we will be making an advert which will last around a minute long, and will be skippable on YouTube. Mind map Mood board Rough Sketches. Medium The promotional video which we will be making for the Nintendo switch will be a YouTube advert. This is because when it is distributed to the right audience, there will be a lot of viewers who are interested in Nintendo products which will see this. Running time When looking at the running time, the video will be just over a minute long. If the advert was chosen to be one which can’t be skipped, then most of the viewers it will get would likely click off, which is why it would be best for the viewer to be given the option to skip over it if they want to. With the video being this long and with it also being skippable, it would mean it would cost as much as any other type of ad to keep it runnin...
