Justify editing effects

Feedback Form

Q1
This is feedback that was fixed by exporting it into a different and better format in Premiere Pro. Apart from that, the editing style Sophie went with suits the video and its purpose, so no other editing methods should be considered.

Q2 / Q3 / Q4
These are all fairly short questions and can be talked about here together, each having mostly positive responses apart from on 3, which says "they were all very basic but worked well". I agree that shots we did were quite common and basic, which is why it took Sophie a while to create something unique from it. If we were to adjust any of the shots that we took, we could use more unique angles that fit into the narrative but still look interesting. We could have included ones such as over the shoulder shots for the conversation scenes between Nathen, Ellie and I, a high angle shot looking down at someone playing on the switch, and ground level shots of our surrounding location and the bench we were sat at to film.

Q5
Like how the bottom response says, in our promo we only really looked at the portability of the switch. However, the main idea of this console is that it is a home console that can be taken on the go, but the main idea of our promo was to come away from the dock as it is a recognised feature of the Switch already. To make our promo better, we should have included some shots of the switch being docked and played with controllers in a home environment, as the promo being set in a park does not exactly capture this.

Q6
There was no elaboration when the responder chose 'other', therefore no potential improvements for this can be said. (their answer could have been put in the box for Q7)

Q7
The only response here gives the idea of using grain rather than reduced quality. The reduced quality was a technical error from when it was exported, and and since it has been exported it in a higher quality. However, using grain as an effect may not work as it could change the whole feel of the promo from being positive and upbeat to something with more undertone.

Feasibility

In general, the feedback we were given from our peers for our audio visual promo was all helpful.

I believe that adding parts into the promo of using the dock feature of the Switch would have been a great idea to further look into what someone can do with the device, however our promo was mainly about the portability and being able to play on it anywhere with anyone.

Adding different and more unique shot types would’ve been a great way to improve the video because it is a good way to make it more appealing to the audience.

Using grain as a visual effect may not be a good way to improve our video because it would not have matched the playful energy we were going for. However, keeping this feedback in mind and using more different visual effects that match the theme of the video would be beneficial to any videos I could make in the future.
